This itinerary is perfect for people who want to get to know successful Social Projects and who are interested in discovering and interacting directly with the local community and the inhabitants of a neighborhood that in the 1970s housed the largest occupation of houses on stilts in Brazil. We will visit some Social Projects carried out in the community and understand their importance in improving the quality of life of residents, especially children and adolescents, and learn a little more about their stories and daily life.
Our first stop will be at the Headquarters of Espaço Cultural dos Alagados, which offers theater, dance, music, tutoring and a very pleasant space with toys and snacks for the children and young people of the community. Then, we will visit the Luiza Mahin Community School, founded by the women (mothers) of the community itself who missed a local school for their children. Today the school is beautiful, well structured of and an important support center for parents and children of the neighborhood.
Our visit will provide a direct interaction with these children and the residents. In addition to that we will have lunch with the locals and delight ourselves with the typical cuisine
